Lightweight Clubman Sprint Championship 2013, Rd.6

Stefan Child was the man on form and he stormed to pole position for final 1. Dave Waters’ impressive run of form continued with 2nd on the grid ahead of Rob Larque, Stephanie Walters and Carl Watt. A difficult couple of heats saw Jack Harding dead last on the grid.

The front 3 got away cleanly. Stephanie Walters made a poor start and dropped to 6th, promoting Watt and Ben Finch. These 3 then dueled for most of the race whilst further up the road the leaders were also embroiled in a close battle. Child managed to hold off the attention of Waters and won by less than half a second. Larque completed the podium. Poor Jack Harding had more dramas and came home 20th.

Dan Milner set the fastest lap of the day to claim pole for final 2. Waters was once again 2nd with Child 3rd, Finch 4th and Alex Mitchison 5th.

Stefan Child got the jump on Waters and slotted in behind Dan Milner. Waters fell back even further on the following lap, losing out to Ben Finch, Justin Buck, Alex Mitchison and Rob Larque. Stephanie Walters was an early retirement. Over the next few laps the leaders started to spread out evenly with Milner heading the field. He crossed the line over 1s clear of Child with Finch a further 1s behind in 3rd.
