Lightweight Clubman Sprint Championship 2013, Rd.2

Having dominated the opening 2 rounds at his home track, it was going to be interesting to see how well Simon Rudd went here. The answer seemed quite clear as good qualifying heats saw him claim pole for final one. He was joined on the front row by fellow Buckmore Elite racer Jack Harding.
The front row got away in grid order with Rudd leading Harding round the opening lap. Dave Waters dispatched Dan Milner for 3rd while further back Liam Nolan, Ray Norris and Carl Watt were first lap casualties.
Waters (not Walters) nipped past Harding on lap 2 and set about trying to close on Rudd. However, despite closing to within a couple of tenths, Rudd had enough in hand to take the win. Harding was a few tenths behind Waters and these 3 were comfortably in front of the rest of the field.
Final 2 saw Dave Waters on pole with Ray Norris looking for better luck in 2nd. Rudd was 3rd with Harding once again alongside in what looked like being a close race.
Norris lost out from the outside line and dropped to 4th behind Rudd and Milner. Harding dropped to 5th. Waters led by a comfortable half second margin for the first few laps but Rudd began closing the gap in the latter stages. He made his move on the final lap but made contact, earning himself a penalty. This handed the win to Waters with Milner being promoted to 2nd and Harding 3rd. An angry Rudd was demoted to 5th
