Round 5 of the Club100 Sprints South Championship brought the championship to Lydd for another action-packed day of racing, with three classes taking to the circuit and plenty of championship points on the line.

Lightweight

Jack O’Neill delivered a dominant performance in the Lightweight A Final, taking the chequered flag ahead of Logan McAlister and Jamie Tiley-Gooden.

O’Neill was in control throughout the final, setting the fastest lap of the race on his way to a 1.957-second victory.

Robert Crawford led the C2 runners home in fifth overall, with Ieuan Thomas and Joseph Simcock completing the top three in C2.

Robbie Petchey was the leading Rookie, bringing his N-C2 entry home in 25th overall after penalties.

In the championship, Jack O’Neill continues to lead the Lightweight standings, while Robert Crawford is the leading C2 driver.

Middleweight

Ethan Saunders-Wilks continued his excellent season with victory in the Middleweight A Final.

Saunders-Wilks led Adam Natha and Christopher Powell-Taylor home, with just 3.622 seconds separating the top two at the finish.

Rob Langthorp was the leading C2 driver, finishing sixth overall, ahead of Aaron James and Dan Tredwell.

Adam Barras took the Middleweight Rookie award, finishing 12th overall, while Dylan Houghton was the second Rookie home.

Saunders-Wilks also maintains his position at the top of the championship standings, with Max Chapman second and Thomas Hughes leading the C2 championship from third overall.

Heavyweight

Andrew O’Neill completed a superb day for the O’Neill family by taking victory in the Heavyweight A Final.

O’Neill led Joe Holmes and Adam Wright across the line, with a margin of 2.477 seconds at the chequered flag.

Karolis Koncikas was the leading C2 driver in eighth overall, with Darrell Lowe and Sam White completing the C2 podium.

Kyle Gaffney was the leading Heavyweight Rookie, while Mike Bodnar took the honours in the Super Heavyweight category.

The championship remains led by Andrew O’Neill, with Sam Pooley and Tim Penny completing the top three. Elliot Alt is currently the leading C2 driver in the Heavyweight championship.

With five rounds complete, the Sprints South championship now heads towards its closing stages.

The next stop is Llandow for Round 6 on 6 September, before the championship finale at Silverstone in November.
