NEWS!!! BARNABY PITTINGALE CLERK OF COURSE FOR SPRINT CHAMPIONSHIP

by John Vigor | February 24, 2022 |

I am very pleased announce a multiple British, European and World Champion, Barnaby Pittingale, as our new Clerk of the Course for our blue riband Club100 Racing in association with Rotax Karting Sprint Championships. His name heard over a Italian kart circuit p.a. would strike fear in the hearts of top international karting talent in his competitive driving pomp. Seen it all, done most of it himself, rapid behind the wheel, and great judge of driving, I have every confidence in his abilities to clerk your racing in a fair, firm and impartial manner. I can hardly call him a great addition to the club because he has been essential part of our Club100 family for as long as anyone can remember.

I can think of no one more experienced and steeped in Club100, and the Club100 way to do this role. He has been working as a kart tester for almost as long as Club100 has existed, personable and professional, friendly and approachable, straightforward and fair dealing – I have every confidence in his judgement on karting matters. And in nice Club100 family full circle sort of a way he takes over a role his father and my great friend Russ Pittingale used to do before he retired. This is making me feel quite old. Barnaby is a family man, married to Gemma, pictured below together with one of world championship trophies, and is a devoted father to his two children Milo and Tora -Grace.

Barnaby Pittingale will be Clerk of the Course for the 2022 Sprint Championships, attending every round, making the final calls on the sporting side of your racing. He will be assisted by our team of observers of fact, including Niki Richardson, who will be attending around his other commitments, and along with our time keepers and admin staff, I will continue my executive race day role overseeing and ensuring the smooth running of our Club100 events in our professional and friendly Club100 Racing manner.

Asked about the racing he would like to see, Barnaby said, in the fashion of his own, “Definitely hard but fair, and I’d like to promote overtaking really, I hate processional racing”. That sounds like Club100 Racing to me.

And it all starts this weekend at Buckmore Park.
