It’s Race Week for the Young Drivers Series

The wait has been long, too long, but race week for the Young Driver’s Series is here.

Towards the end of this week Club100 will be issuing by email confirmatory instructions about the 1st event. Timings are as published already, but any final instructions and advice will be issued to entrants.

While we have resumed racing at last, current issues, like the effectively shortened season, much of it falling into the education year, and fixture congestion across all UK championships means we have reduced the number events to 3.

Whether you are moving up to outdoor karting, or into two stroke racing for the first time, either as a stepping stone, or as a long term home, or if you are wishing to fill the void in your original 2020 plans that are on hold, Club100 offers the series open to drivers aged between 14 and 18 years of age.

While no longer a ‘championship’, hence the change to ‘Young Drivers Series’, and we have chosen to withdraw the Motorsport UK permit, these changes change nothing to you as our customer, everyone will be using our same superb machinery, prepared to our highest standards for events run and clerked to our same exacting standards as our main championships.

It also means a K-X licence is not required. But should you wish to compete in our main championships you will be eligible with the K-X licence you hold, and with that in mind licence application forms are available on request , if you wish to, and so you can enjoy other benefits that come with a Motorsport UK K-X licence, and any issued licences remain valid.

Testing is available on the event’s race day to get you on the pace, if you wish.

So we have a great introduction for Young Drivers, over 3 events, with 3 iconic UK karting circuits to get a feel for Club100 karting in association with Rotax that will set up every driver up perfectly for participation with the Young Drivers Championship in 2021 or any other racing, as Club100 offers some of the best racing in the country.

Social distancing rules will apply, more information on that will be forthcoming, and we will be trying to allow as much access for drivers’ family members as we safely can. We have a new Digital Check In procedure to replace traditional signing on, all in aid of keeping us two metres apart, as we must, and all of us outside of buildings (at least for the first event).

Please note the slight variation in timing for Event 3 and Testing Session 3, and given that it is also after the clocks going back, late in November, that means we will be racing under floodlights, clear visors for driver’s crash helmets are required.
